The Kitchen Renovation

Well, for some reason Tim and I like to buy houses that need completely redone...we tend to regret these decisions sometimes and typically at those times there is alot of cussing involved (not by me). It has kinda become a hobby of ours. Tim is VERY handy with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. I just get to pick colors, paint the colors, and make executive design decisions. We bought this house December 2005 and so far have renovated/dewallpapered every room but one. We are in the midst of the kithchen. I didn't have a full "BEFORE" picture of the kitchen so I grabbed a picture from our Halloween party (my friends don't typically dress like this).
Wasn't it Gorgeous??
Lucas has loved trying to help along the way. Below he is demonstating how to properly use the Steamer for Dewallpapering. It is magic! (I think he would make a good salesman). BIG Thanks to friends and family for helping along the DE-wallpapering process! Every room in this house use yo have UGLY wallpaper and w/o your help I would have gone nuts!!

Here he is helping daddy mud the pantry holes (with his plastic saw and hammer). He is always trying to help- it is really too too cute.
It looks better already doesn't it? Without the wallpaper- it actually looks bigger. We tore out the pantry b/c the sliding doors sucked, not sure what we are doing in there yet. The lighting cove you see above use to be covered by acrylic lenses. We tore off the lenses and the lights and are going to install a new fixture after I paint the ceiling. That is happening tonight- this is finally starting to get exciting!

I'm always so excited to see your finished rooms. What colors did you pick for the kitchen... or does it have to be a surprise?

It's looking good girl. Wish I could be there to help you out. So does Tony, he loves doing stuff like that. Keep up the awesome work Tim and Lucas, you guys are a great team. Maybe you should go into business together someday renovating. Love you all. Jo

Wow...you guys are so brave. We have a new house and it's hard enough to make paint, etc decisions. It looks amazing!
