Pick up Sticks

Do you remember the game of Pic-up-Sticks? This is what this scene reminded me of. Lucas got an open box of noodles and proceeded to pour them out of the box before I could catch him. Then he thought it was even cooler to then pick them up and throw them back onto the pile. He would just laugh and laugh! He didn't stick around too long to help clean them up but instead he ran off into the corner with a handful of them and proceeded to eat them...at least it was something actually edible vs. sand or dirt that is typically eaten. I am still finding broken spaghetti everywhere. Ahhhh good times.

Ethan's Birthday

Ethan's birthday party was this weekend up in Kokomo! It was great to see everyone again. Of course to the kids it was all about the toys and the cake...but mostly the cake. Lucas has been talking about cake ever since his party and when we got to Ethan's house he was asking for cake before he even ate lunch!

The birthday boy!

The boys having their cake and eating it too. Yum Yum!

Self Portraits

Well, Tim and I have become masters at self-portraits since we met. If you don't know what I mean- it is when you take the camera and hold it out in front of you to take a picture of yourselves. (This task has definitely gotten easier since digital cameras have come into play!) Now, since I am typically the picture taker -there aren't too many pics of me and the kids. So this week I decided to take some self-portraits! I also included a favorite self-portrait of Tim and I in Sedona (before we had any kids). Now all we have to work on is taking a family self-portrait...and trust me it is trickier when you add more people...especially little people who don't hold still! :)

Wrigley's new HideOut

Wrigley just chillin in Lucas' new tent.
Well, Lucas doesn't usually like Wrigley in his tent, but this day he didn't seem to mind too much. Wrigley is actually a great dog to take camping. He likes the hiking and the hotdogs and sleeps really well curled up in the corner of our tent. This coming summer will be nice a cozy with two adults, two kids and a dog...I think we might have to get a bigger tent!

The Weekend

Lilly and mom keeping warm and Lucas hiding behind the tree...the day before all the snow.

Lucas showing dad how to properly build a snowman and running crazy with Wrigley.

A close up of the infamous snowman and Lucas helping dad shovel the deck.

I think it needs a little more snow right about here.
What a great weekend we had! We headed outside on Saturday (in the mud) and even Lilly got all bundled up to watch her older brother run around all crazy. Then Sunday we finally got our first real snow of the season so we headed out to build Lucas' first snowman. He LOVED the snow and didn't want to come inside even with the bribe of hot chocolate and brownies...and if you know Lucas that is serious. And to top off the weekend the Colt's are on to the Superbowl! Good times.

Priceless

Giggling on the floor.
All Smiles.
What did you say?
Very Interesting...
Well, sometimes you capture a look in a picture that is just priceless. Giggles and smiles are always fun, but surprised faces and inquisitve looks are classic.

Bath Toys

What a bearded cheese!
Lucas also got some new bathtoys for his Birthday from cousin Hannah. He thinks they are pretty cool and pretty much throws a fit when you tell him bathtime is over. :(

The Tent

Caught Ya!

Lucas and Lilly peeking out from inside the tent!

Lucas got a tent for his birthday from his Uncle Eric. We put it up after the party and haven't taken it down yet. Lucas likes to play inside it and usually wants Tim or I to play with him. He is even sharing with his little sister already! He will be a pro by the time we go camping this summer!

My bud Neil

Playing Chopsticks!
Just Chillin'
Neil and Lucas got to hang out Saturday when we went over to Clarks to watch the Colts win. They had a good time together playing the piano, chasing eachother, fighting over Thomas the train and chillin' out on Neil's new Elmo couch. Ahhh the simplicites of being a toddler.

Two months old

Well Lilly is two months old today! She is smiling and cooing and looking all around at everything. Lucas is getting a little more interested in her and will even read books to her and try to shove her pacifier in her mouth while she is sleeping. He has even learned to share the play mat with her...sometimes. Two kids definitely keep you on your toes!

The Party

Here are the big kids thoroughly enjoying their cake!

As you can tell from this picture- everyone was having a good time!

Miss Elle is ready to go to work! Adorable!
The Hess Construction Crew
Well, Lucas' 2 year old party sure was fun! Friends and family joined us to celebrate and everyone was sent home with full bellies, tired kids, and Hard hats! Lucas LOVED his cake and went into a sugar coma while still trying to finish it. He was a pro opening all his presents and even got some help from his friends. Overall I would say it was a success and we look forward to a year hopefully NOT filled with 2 year old tantrums!
