Bath Toys

What a bearded cheese!
Lucas also got some new bathtoys for his Birthday from cousin Hannah. He thinks they are pretty cool and pretty much throws a fit when you tell him bathtime is over. :(

The Tent

Caught Ya!

Lucas and Lilly peeking out from inside the tent!

Lucas got a tent for his birthday from his Uncle Eric. We put it up after the party and haven't taken it down yet. Lucas likes to play inside it and usually wants Tim or I to play with him. He is even sharing with his little sister already! He will be a pro by the time we go camping this summer!

My bud Neil

Playing Chopsticks!
Just Chillin'
Neil and Lucas got to hang out Saturday when we went over to Clarks to watch the Colts win. They had a good time together playing the piano, chasing eachother, fighting over Thomas the train and chillin' out on Neil's new Elmo couch. Ahhh the simplicites of being a toddler.

Two months old

Well Lilly is two months old today! She is smiling and cooing and looking all around at everything. Lucas is getting a little more interested in her and will even read books to her and try to shove her pacifier in her mouth while she is sleeping. He has even learned to share the play mat with her...sometimes. Two kids definitely keep you on your toes!

The Party

Here are the big kids thoroughly enjoying their cake!

As you can tell from this picture- everyone was having a good time!

Miss Elle is ready to go to work! Adorable!
The Hess Construction Crew
Well, Lucas' 2 year old party sure was fun! Friends and family joined us to celebrate and everyone was sent home with full bellies, tired kids, and Hard hats! Lucas LOVED his cake and went into a sugar coma while still trying to finish it. He was a pro opening all his presents and even got some help from his friends. Overall I would say it was a success and we look forward to a year hopefully NOT filled with 2 year old tantrums!

Lucas' Birthday

Tim and Lucas in the booth at Pizza King
This is the drink delivering train that goes past each booth
Lucas opening presents from us...do you think he likes it?
Well, for Lucas' birthday yesterday we tried to do all of the things that he loves. I took both kids to the grocery in the morning where Lucas got to drive the car cart (and I got to get groceries). He would just tell me to push faster! Then when we got home Lilly was asleep in the car so I took Lucas out in his wagon up and down the drive until we got cold. Then when Tim got home we went to the park. The sun was setting and it was a little chilly but we did have the place to ourselves! He loved every minute and cried when we left. We decided to go to Pizza King on the way b/c Lucas loves pizza. The pizza itself wasn't very good but there was a train that actually delivered the drinks to each booth. Lucas loved it, but would get mad when he couldn't see the train. Overall it was a good day, he is looking forward to his party this weekend!

An official 2 year old

Saying Hello to the world! 6 months and 12 months 18 months

2 years old
Well, we now have an official 2 year old. (Although I think he has been in the "terrible twos" for quite some time now). Thought I would put up some pictures of him growing up. He is such a big boy now!

Silly Lilly

I was taking pictures of Miss Lilly yesterday and thought I would share how big and cute she is getting. She is definitely getting some character to her as you can see.
She does love to stick her tounge out all the time...
I guess this is what she thinks of my picture taking!

Big Boy Bed

Well, as most of you know we moved Lucas to a Big Boy twin bed in October since his little sister was arriving soon and he has actually done a great job with it. Some days nap time is still a struggle with getting him to actually stay in bed, so sometimes if we hear him kicking the wall or banging against his door we ignore it b/c eventually he crawls back into bed and goes to sleep. Well, a few days ago I peeked in on him and this is where I found him...asleep on the floor next to (and partly underneath) his bed. He had thrown everything off the bed and I guess was just too tired to put it all back up there again. It was pretty funny so I had to get a picture!

Oh Baby it's Cold Outside

Oh Mom! Why do you put me in this silly getup?

Well, it really isn't that cold yet. We actually wish it was colder so that we could have snow instead of all of this rain. We are itching to build a snowman and snow is soooo much more pretty than rain! Lucas has been wanting to go outside but our backyard is basically a mudpit so I took him for a little wagon ride on the driveway and when we came in he had his first mug of hot chocolate. (he loved it of course) Lilly didn't go for the wagon ride, but she did look cute all bundled up when we went shopping later!

Christmas Morning

Well Christmas morning was great, Lucas' present to us was to sleep in till 8am...WAY better than the typical 6am wake-up call. The morning was filled with books, puppets, movies, clothes, and cinnamon rolls...
...But all of that was forgotten when Lucas opened up his new train set! Right now he is all about "choo choos" (as he calls them). Of course Dad likes to play too...it is nice having him home this week!

Christmas Eve

Grandpa Hess trying to convince Lilly that she is going to be a TomBoy.
Lucas and Conner checking out the new "acquarium".
The cutest 5 year olds, Sophie and Olivia.
Can you feel the love??
Tim's dad, his six brothers and the woman who raised SEVEN boys! Kudos to Grandma!

Well the Hess' have a tradition of getting everyone together on Christmas Eve for dinner and a present exchange. This year the party was held at Tim's Aunt and Uncles in Fort Wayne. Lots of family and lots of food! Great Grandma was happy to meet Lilly for the first time and Grandpa Steve was happy to show her off to all of his brothers! We headed home late to make it back before Santa arrived at our house...the kids all nestled in their car seats while visions of breastmilk and icing covered brownies danced in their heads!
